About Me:
About me…well,
I'm a mom. I have four fantastic children who are the focus of my life at this point in time.
I'm a wife. My husband is also one of my very best friends.
We have a farm. It's a hobby farm, five acres. We have several outbuildings, including a big barn I have dreams of restoring. We have 2 labs, 7 cats, and four llamas who are all sisters. It's very cool.
I garden organically. I have three garden plots; two vegetable and one herb. I also grow apple trees, grapes (these are actually my husbands hobby), raspberries and strawberries plus sunflowers and wildflowers are planted annually for the birds, bees and butterflies.
I'm from California…I'm a native. I'm a Midwest transplant and am doing very well with that. All my children were born in Long Beach and are now “country kids” as they're referred to at school; there are “town kids” and “country kids”…we live three miles from town in the “country”, thus the title. It's a world away from where we came, but it's marvelous. Our lives are richer and more full than we could have dreamed back in the days of rental houses and rat races. Not that I don't miss the smell of the salty sea or the crash of waves on the packed sand…occasionally.
I'm a happy person. I enjoy life and prefer to surround myself with people who feel the same way. I spent a few years discovering that being miserable isn't anyway to live and that the people who assist you in staying miserable don't have much to offer, and they certainly don't know what love is.
I'm in a place right now that in rough terms, binds me from doing things I want to do. It's an interesting place to be and I've learned a lot already from being here, and I hope to continue to learn, because that at least makes it worth experiencing. I keep my chin up and hold close to me the things I want to do but cannot, because I know my turn will come, and I will do them then. And probably do them better because of the wait.
My mom is a breast cancer survivor. She's one of the strongest women I know. Going through the breast cancer experience with her was an amazing gift because it allowed us to bond in a way we hadn't previously connected yet (and we were about as close as a mother and daughter could be before). Like I said, amazing.
My dad turns 60 this year and I turn 40. For my birthday, I'd like to spend his birthday with him. He still lives in California and I'm hoping he can come spend his birthday on the farm this year. That would be a happy birthday indeed.
I really enjoy zaadz.
